Peggy is a musician, film and music producer, composer, songwriter, arranger, orchestrator and music/sound supervisor for film, television, animation, trailers and digital media and founded Pendulum-Productions . She is also an educator, coach, fundraising and creative consultant for entertainment, nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
Film-Television:
Peggy is a producer, composer & music supervisor for Pendulum-Productions. Pendulum-Productions develops projects and provides production, music and sound design for film, television, animation, trailers and digital media.
Peggy also worked with GO Media Productions as their VP of External Affairs.
Nonprofit:
Peggy serves as the Senior Manager, Development (Southern Region) at Per Scholas. Per Scholas believes a thriving workforce starts with equitable access to education. Per Scholas provides skills training and access to employer networks to individuals often excluded from tech careers. Per Scholas envisions a technology workforce as diverse as the customers it serves. More than 25,000 graduates have launched successful careers in tech to date through Per Scholas' no-cost technical training. Per Scholas' mission is to advance economic equity through rigorous training for tech careers and to connect skilled talent to leading businesses. Peggy was formerly the Grants and Planned Giving Senior Director at Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, where she played a pivotal role in fundraising, strategy development, grant writing, and fostering partnerships raising over $10 million in giving and grant awards, and over $14 million in planned giving bequests.
In her previous roles, Peggy's expertise in fundraising, strategy development, and community engagement was instrumental in driving impactful initiatives. As the Chief Development Officer for Women in Technology and later beginning as a consultant for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, she contributed to strategic planning and grant writing efforts. Additionally, Peggy served as the Arts and Philanthropy Director for the Fort Mac Redevelopment project, overseeing creative arts and community outreach initiatives for the redevelopment of 145 acres of Fort McPherson. Her diverse portfolio also includes collaborations with organizations such as Heritage Sandy Springs and The Center for Working Families Inc. (TCWFI), where she provided strategic consulting on marketing, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives.
Teaching:
Peggy has been teaching music, music theory, performance, film production, business entrepreneurship, nonprofit fundraising, and leadership for the past 30 years. She has been a guest speaker or guest lecturer at Georgia State University (GSU) School of Music, GSU J. Mack Robinson College of Business, GSU Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, AMDA College of the Performing Arts, Kennesaw State University Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business Program, and for 6 Time Emmy Winner Scott Houston (aka "The Piano Guy").
Peggy has a Bachelor of Music (3.85 GPA) and Master of Business Administration (4.0 GPA) degrees and has been invited to honors societies such as Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Golden Key to name a few.
Leadership:
Peggy's leadership journey spans a diverse range of endeavors, marked by transformative achievements and unwavering dedication. As the former Executive Director of Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, Peggy led her team in a remarkable revitalization effort, transforming the center's landscape in less than five years. In recognition of her expertise in fundraising and capital campaigns, Peggy was invited to share her insights at the National Building Museums Symposium in Washington D.C. in 2017. Beyond her executive roles, Peggy is deeply engaged in various boards and organizations, where she continues to shape the landscape of arts, education, and community development. She serves on the Boards of the US Intellectual Property Alliance (USIPA), Georgia State University School of Music, C.T. Vivian Foundation, Georgia Music Partners, and the Atlanta Film Festival. Her commitment to the music industry is further underscored by her seven-year tenure on the Board of Governors (Composer Seat) for The Recording Academy Grammy Organization. Peggy's leadership prowess extends beyond her professional achievements, as evidenced by her participation in prestigious leadership programs. She is an alumna of Leadership Atlanta (class of 2013), Leadership DeKalb (class of 2014), and Leadership Sandy Springs (now Leadership Perimeter, class of 2020).
Producer, Composer, Artist and Creative Services:
Peggy's journey in the world of entertainment began with the founding of Pendulum-Productions, where she spearheaded projects spanning fundraising, production, music, and sound design for various mediums, including film, television, animation, trailers, and digital media. Her creative ventures have led to the release of her avant-garde CD, "Footsteps," and the single "Pie Jesu," composed for the acclaimed film "Requiem for Herstory." Notably, "Pie Jesu" garnered recognition on the ballot for the 54th Grammy Awards and earned a nomination for Best Classical and Orchestral Song at the Indie Award. In addition to her musical pursuits, Peggy's collaborative spirit shines through her work with renowned figures such as Stephen King, John Mellencamp, T Bone Burnett, and Andy York on the musical production "Ghost Brothers of Darkland County." Her recent endeavors include the release of the "Hello World" soundtrack, distributed globally by Pendulum Music Label, addressing the importance of diversity and inclusion in technology and academia.
Peggy's impact extends beyond the studio, as she has captivated audiences worldwide as a soloist and ensemble performer, including notable appearances in Maui for former President George and Barbara Bush. Her dedication to music education led to the establishment of the Peggy Still School of Music in 1988, a venture that flourished into three locations with hundreds of students and teachers before its successful sale in 2011. Continuing her legacy, Peggy founded Peggy Johnson Productions & Talent, where she nurtured talent as a music and production supervisor, casting agent, and composer/arranger for film. Her versatile skills have left an indelible mark and offered services on various productions, including "Curious Case of Benjamin Button," "Parental Guidance," "Bessie," "America's Got Talent," and "Greenleaf." Peggy has worked with numerous celebrities such as MoNique, Grammy winners Larkin Poe, the Starbenders, Justin Guarini, Dean Roland, Tuk Smith, and Joelle, to name a few over the years with coaching and other musical services.
Currently, Peggy is at the helm of Pendulum-Productions, overseeing projects like "Heianzan" and "WE Sing," while also lending her expertise to the documentary "Man Enough to Heal" as executive producer, composer, and music supervisor and music for "Penelope and Simon." Notable orchestral arrangements include "Live in the Sky," performed by T.I. and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, and contributions to esteemed events like the Points of Light presentation at the Kennedy Center and the Dedication of the Atlanta Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Looking ahead, Peggy enjoys her collaboration with Tiger Turn label, releasing projects such as "Pipe Organ Holidays," "Pipe Organ Easter," "Pipe Organ Thanksgiving," and various piano instrumental recording featuring hymns and music aimed at providing listeners of all ages with soothing and peaceful experiences.
